Cashmere Mafia
01:26 AM | Comments (2)

What's not to like? Cashmere Mafia is Sex and the City meets Desperate Housewives-- and it came in the best timing too. There's still seems to be a big 'dramedy' void to fill since the ending of Sex and the City, and Desperate Housewives-- well, it's just getting a little dull.

Like Sex, Cashmere follows four very successful and ambitious friends in New York City. The four women, each interestingly with a different hair colour (almost like a L'Oreal hair dye commercial), run around with their crazily busy jobs, clicking away at their blackberries, balance their personal lives, while at the same time being able to sit down and have lunch or sip martinis with each other regularly.

While the writing is definitely not as clever as Sex, I find these characters to be refreshing-- particularly Lucy Liu, who looks absolutely stunning on each show. Her clothes seriously look like as if she was walking down the runway.

The women are not the only gorgeous people, so are the men! While the men, like Sex, don't have significant roles, I can't help but admire their fabulous looking suits! Not to mention that the guys are just gorgeous.

Yep, now reviewing my review of the show made me realize that the show is based on hot characters and hot clothes. How completely queer of me. Anyways, it's hard to say if the show's going to stick around, because I think it will take more than some fashion hotties to keep this show afloat.

Carrie Bradshaw, for example, had a whole lot of good clever quotes! I don't know if Cashmere has the same quality of writing, but there are a few lines here and there.

Denise, who has also been catching the show, was interested in a short monologue made by Lucy Liu's character.

It's a high time to accept the fact that a woman won't just be your co-worker, she could be your boss. And you're going to have to be prepared to deal, to be a man about it in the true sense of the word. sure, more working women means more competition, but instead of being threatened by it, be challenged by it-- let's bring the best of each other. Win or lose, if you're a good sport, everybody wins.

But sure how this show will go, but I'm definitely going to keep watching.

Degrassi: The Next Generation
12:32 PM | Comments (2)

Degrassi is an awesome show. I just finished Season 6 and 7 of the show, which can be viewed on the CTV Broadband Network.

I weirdly have a urge to watch high school drama shows, I think mainly because of nostalgia. I remember watching so many teen shows during my adolescence. I religiously watched Saved by the Bell, Ready of Not, Beverly Hills 90210, and Degrassi High. I also watched a bit of Breaker High, Dawson's Creek, Blossom, and Student Bodies.

Of course, the Degrassi franchise is very different from the other teen dramas/comedies because it really explored the serious issues facing high school life. While some critics have criticized the show for over-dramatizing teenage life, I feel that teenagers can still learn from the situations on the show.

For those who adored the original Degrassi as much as I did, you will realize that Spike, Snake, Joey and Cailtin are the existing characters that are carried forward in The Next Generation-- although only Spike and Snake now remain as of Season 7. If you recall, Spike was the girl with the crazy 80's rocker spiked blonde hair who got knocked up in Degrassi High. Spike's child, Emma, is now featured in The Next Generation.

There hasn't been that much difference between the original and The Next Generation, which I guess comes to show that teenagers have not changed and are going through the same issues as before. The only new issue that was discussed in The Next Generation is homosexuality. Perhaps that's the reason why the show caught my eye.

In The Next Generation, Marco Del Rossi is the gay character who, who goes through the typical ups and downs of being a gay adolescent: denial, confusion, coming out to friends, dating, coming out to family, breaking up. Anyway, it's a very weird dynamic in Degrassi. Everyone seems so okay with the fact that Marco's openly gay. Is that representative of today's Canadian high schools?

Also, I find it interesting watching a show that is not targeted to my age demographic. I remember watching Saved by the Bell, and thought how cool kids like Zack, Slater and Kelly were.

By the way, Slater looks hotter with age. Woof.

Anyway, I definitely view the show on a completely different level, now watching Degrassi as a person who has experienced high school. I guess that makes sense, but don't you find that the cast of Degrassi looks way smaller physically compared to say Saved by the Bell? Or is that just my perception because I am older?

Liam Styles Chang
01:08 PM | Comments (0)

For some odd reason, I find myself craving television on Tuesday nights. Not because there is anything good on, but just because it's often my laziest day.

This summer, I have been back in the Canadian Idol habit, but not anymore. Last week, Canada voted to eliminate the only two interesting artists in the competition, namely Liam Styles Chang and Tyler Mullendore. Liam is the cute half-Asian emo kid with a strong voice who would've rocked the pop-punk teen market, something we can never have enough of. Tyler is they guy on crack who always has very wild and eccentric performances.

But oddly enough, these are two who had to go. I figure that because the judges praised their performances, fans weren't as committed to continue dialing and vote. I was totally confident that they both would be there in the long haul. But of course, voting on Canadian Idol, or American Idol, was never really based on talent. Perhaps I shouldn't have the right to speak, since I personally have never successfully entered a vote on Canadian Idol. Sure I've tried in the past, but the lines are constantly busy, plus I refuse to spend money to text in my vote. They're not that good.

Sure I can't complain, but I can show my disappointment-- especially since I think Liam and Tyler both have what it takes to be a star. What I will do is spread the word. I like Liam Styles Chang and Tyler Mullendore, and I hope others in the web feel the same. (So Google spiders, work your magic!), From there, maybe a music industry official will check out my site and may be more inclined to sign these two talented artists.

I hope this just isn't wishful thinking.

My view on The View
08:49 PM | Comments (1)

This screenshot is golden.

Daytime talk usually doesn't get much attention, mainly because of its mind-retarding soaps, or those awful "family-issues" talk shows like Montel and Dr. Phil.

It is this programming that makes me want to rush back to work or school.

But one show I do like is The View, and I watch it at every opportunity I get. I have been a 'loyal' follower ever since ABC casted Lisa Ling to diversify further its collective points of view. While I have to say that she wasn't the best co-host, since she's always shadowed by then Star Jones and Meredith Vieira. Regardless, I stuck by the show, and enjoyed their 'hot topics' segements when they talk about whatever is on their mind, from current events, enteratinment, or simply what they did with their respective families.

Maybe because I love to have a coffee and chit-chat, I found myself very at-ease with these ladies-- namely Meredith, Lisa, Star and Joy.

I have never enjoyed Barbara Walters.

Anyways, after a series of guest hosts after Lisa Ling's departure from the show, Elisabeth Hasselbeck joined the table. I actually recall Elisabeth back when I was still caught Suvivor religiously. She was the pretty one, and I enjoyed her on the show. Little did we know that she was this extreme Republican supporter

Apparently, The View producers brought her to the table because the show has in the past been criticized for having a liberal bias, and Hasselback was the source to bring another side to the discussion.

Then became the departure of Star Jones, which at this point, we certainly don't care about. There was so much unnecessary drama during the 'controversy' and upheld the stereotype that women are catty.

Then entered Rosie. Oh man, daytime television has never been so good. I actually find myself going on Youtube to find interesting clips of what Rosie has to say. I never really enjoyed Rosie too much, just like how I never enjoyed Elisabeth. But man, when you put these two ladies together, it makes just amazing programming.

Despite polarized opinions, these two ladies had chemistry unlike any other co-hosts in the history of the show. It is just a shame that Rosie is no longer on the show. She's a loud, obnoxious, fat lesbian, and that's the way we love her. Just like how Elisabeth is the cute-sy Republican Christian girl, and that's the way we love her too!

If you don't know, there was a very heated argument last week stemming from previous discussion regarding the US' position on the war in Iraq. Hasselbeck for gets infuriated with Rosie's remarks, and the show gets out of hand.

Go experience it for yourself.

Seriously, now with only the three of co-hosts, the show is so going to take a hit. Joy will continue to soften issues with her humour, Barbara will continue to be annoying and politically correct, and Elisabeth will have no one to argue with.

Whoever they ask to replace Rosie better be good-- but I seriously cannot think of anyone better for a show like The View.

Whether or not their opinions are justified, or if the facts they speak of are actually true, the fact is that they are opening the dialogue and engaging discussion.

Don't worry, regardless of what happens, I will continue to be a devoted viewer whenever I play hookie.

No, I don't think I can dance
12:36 AM | Comments (3)

If my blog title was the answer, then what is the question?

As I continue to fall into my father's footsteps as a couch potato, I have to say that I'm completely addicted to Fox's So You Think You Can Dance.

For the sake of my sanity, the show will now be known as Dance.

Over the past few seasons, there has been this increasing interest for dancing. We saw fairly good runs of Ballroom Bootcamp, Dancing with the Stars, but I cannot say that I caught the previous season of Dance-- probably beacause I was still nuts about Canadian Idol.

Yes, I'm a nerd, shut up.

Yes, it's too bad I missed the first season because this show is so hot. The dancing, the performers-- hot, hot, hot.

Of all the episodes I've seen, Benji is by far my favourite, and to be honest, he totally reminds me of geeky Adam Brody-- you know how I feel about Adam Brody. I could not find footage of his witty performance of Hairspray with Donyelle-- but expect updates in the comments section if I find it. Donyelle happens to be my favourite lady.

Also, I find Ivan [pictured above, with Allison) quite something too, it's sad that I'm developing a liking of barely legal guys. Les calls me a paedophile for taking an interest for him. But in all seriousness-- aside from his cute babyface, I do believe that he's coming out of shell, and will definitely wow us in future performances.

What I don't understand is why Dmitry never gets eliminated. He's only good in his own ballroom element, and is just not as versatile as the other dancers-- and sometimes I feel that he's not giving his 110% like the others. I swear, it's just because he's "hot"-- which I suppose he is, but enough already, he just isn't that good. Musa is way better than him.

Of all the dance styles that I've seen, hip-hop is definitely the most entertaining-- seriously, if I had moves like that, I'm sure I'll be bringing home interesting phone numbers from the club, haha.

Judge Nigel Lythgoe is pretty darn awesome, he always has the something interesting to note about each performance, and I enjoy his eloquence as much as I enjoy the preformances. Mary Murphy seems to play the role of Paula Abdul-- rather more lenient and less critical, while Brian Friedman's pimpy jewel necklace on Wednesday was awfully distracting.

The host, Cat Deeley is always a delight, and I just live to see her talk. Whenever she says "judges," which she says a lot, totally gets me a little excited. Haha.

It looks like I'm going to continue to keep my tubby figure this summer-- as I will have to satisfy my dancing TV craving.

I'm off.

Proud and Fearless for watching MMVAs
12:32 AM | Comments (3)

Did anyone catch the MMVA's? I don't care what everyone is saying, I think Sunday's live broadcast of the MMVAs was super entertaining-- and seriously one of the best. I just find it quite exciting that some big-celebrities are actually coming to our great T-Dot and attending our arguably 'buzz-worthy' events.

The highlight has got to be Fall Out Boy, which by the way, is abbreviated as 'FOB' in a recent tween magazine. I mean, c'mon, I have to check out Pete Wentz, right?-- I mean his hair, I have to check out his hair.

Here he is folks, brace yourselves.

The Fall Out Boy performance, methinks, was awesome-- despite the obvious reasons unrelated to music. Nick Lachey pretty much put me to sleep with that new single of his. Rihanna, though hot, lip-synched the entire performance-- so no credit to her.

I'm not familiar with the work of Metric, since it's not my thing-- but I thought it lacked energy. Maybe Denise can intrigue me in some details. Same goes for Yellowcard.

Simple Plan were alright-- a satisfactory performace.

Hedley is something I want to get into. Why is that Canadian Idol Jacob guy always shirtless? Sure he has this crazy ripped body, but seriously it's time to learn that no shirts mean no service--and in this case, no 'turn-on' switch! Another thing, I thikn the guy is on something, because I've never seen anyone twitch like that in a performance before. I've seen his videos, and I really thought that it was just some neat cinematic effects, but apparently he actually does move like that! Also, that tattoo ass thing was already done-- by a lady named Avril Lavigne.

I was looking forward to Nelly Furtado's performance, but I was a little disappointed-- maybe because the song is starting to fade on me.

This guy doesn't need any introduction. I miss Desperate Housewives.

The time is now quite late, so it's time for bed.

But before I go, I want to state briefly a few more thigns about the MMVAs: (1) Leah continues to be annoying, and asking dumb questions, (2) the new VJ Search guy, Tim, really needs to shake it up and get his nerves out, (2) Hannah is still cool in my books, (3) Matte, Devon and Sarah are all growing on me.

Deal or No Deal
03:38 PM | Comments (0)

Howie MandelThis is probably the most brain-rotting show in primetime this season.

But I love it.

Do you remember the more thought-provoking big-cash game shows were back a few years ago? Shows like Millionaire, Weakest Link, Greed and Twenty One at least attempted quiz contestants in order to achieve the grand prize. But now in 2006, people increasingly don't want to use their brains (i.e. me), and voila, a game show is born.

Originated from Australia, Deal or No Deal emerged on North American TV sets back in during the holiday season just for several weeks. The show then returned after the coverage of the Torino Olympic Games-- since the now desperate NBC needs a real ratings booster.

A side comment: have you noticed how NBC shows kinda suck lately? Aside from maybe The Office, all the rest is a bunch of crap. Even Will and Grace is awfully tiring.

Bring back Friends!

So yes, Deal or No Deal is quite an exciting game. And watching our beloved Canadian Howie Mandel is surprisingly pleasant-- except for the wya he asks the contestant "Deal or No Deal?" All of you might remember him in Bobby's World as himself both in animation and in his real form superimposed in an animation. Anyways, I don't know if it's because there is some really soft lighting in that Deal or No Deal studio, but this guy seems to look better and better as he ages.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's hot. I think he's hot like Martha Stewart is hot. Hmm, am I digging myself into a deeper hole?

Anyways, he can pull off a bald head, and he's got that trendy soul patch thing going on. But of course, if Howie doesn't suit your fancy, there are also 27 models for your pickin's (Howie actually announces each models' names).

So now go forth, and least try to watch one episode. I'll be hooked-- or maybe not, maybe it's just me and my retardedness.

Deal or No Deal airs on NBC (simulcast on CH), weeknights at 8 pm.

MTV Canada at Masonic Temple?
10:29 PM | Comments (4)

I had to quickly venture to Indigo Bay and Bloor during the lunch hour to find this impossibly hard-to-find book for my cousin. There are many scattered throughout the city, but few in prestine condition.

Anyways, I stood waiting for the lights to turn green at Yonge & Bloor to find that the pseudo landmark up the block, Masonic Temple, (home to the former show Open Mike with Mike Bullard) no longer shows the geometric CTV logo, but MTV.

masonictemple.jpgAfter checking my Bloglines, I discovered tgat MTV Canada is being relauched under the CTV banner (unlike the previous partnership, Craig Media-- home of the defunct Toronto 1.) Anyways, MTV Canada will be headquatered in Toronto (not Vancouver, like previously) at the Masonic Temple. The artist's concept is shown.

It looks Muchmusic has some competition once again-- and rightly so, since Muchmusic is really a bunch of crap these days. In fact, it's like the whole channel should be featured on Fromage.

Have you guys seen Much 911? Have you seen their infamous "sequence change" footage? You know, when the screen flashes "Much 911", and you can hear the 9-1-1 phone touch tone.

So irritating!

I do have a guilty pleasure for Video on Trial though. It's just mindless fun.

Back to MTV. MT is quite a nice building, but maybe not as cool as the ChumCity Building. But one thing that will suck for MTV Canada is that Masonic Temple does not have street traffic! That part of Yonge Street (at Davenport) is definitely not like Queen Street. But then at the same time, MT doesn't have those street windows that tempt onlookers to peek inside.

According to Wikipedia, MTV Canada will host a "flagship program" MTV Live in the location, which I can assume to be more or less like MuchOnDemand.

Perhaps more exciting times ahead for music youth culture programming? Let's hope so.

Maybe the competition "invisible hand" will wave goodbye to crap like The ItList, the stomach-upsetting Much VJ Search.

The Greatest Canadian
10:05 PM | Comments (7)

Last night, I had the pleasure of watching The Greatest Canadian on the CBC. In all honesty, such distinctly good programming is really hard to come by. I would like to first of all commend the CBC for broadcasting this month-long series; it really attempts to unite us as a nation and reflect on many of Canada's great accomplishments. I think that with the increasing political turmoil south of the border, there is increased appreciation of what it means to be Canadian. Patriotism in this country has not been this high as I long as I can remember.

After watching the program, I think it is still difficult pick on candidate as the "Greatest Canadian." The accomplishments of these ten individuals in no doubt have definitely shaped and built the great Canada that we all cherish today.

With the exception of some heated debates, which included some unexpected harsh realities and attacks on some candidates, there was by and large an undeniable positive energy from all viewers. Pierre Trudeau and Sir John A. Macdonald were among the people which raised many disputes. It's the beauty of politics; you simply cannot make every one happy.

Among the top ten greatest Canadians, insulin developer Frederick Banting, environmentalist David Suzuki, and cancer hero Terry Fox tops my list for the greatest Canadians.

Who's your greatest Canadian?

Be sure to watch CBC tonight at 8 for the final results!

Sex and the City

Its been a fun few days.

Me and the Bowster got tickets to see The Last Empress. It's a Korean drama musical at the Hummingbird. Wow, it was amazing; the vocals just warm your heart, y'know that feeling? Anyways, the entire musical was sung in Korean, so I had to strain my eyes to read the subtitles. Nevertheless, the play was great. I highly recommend it. We had dinner at this restaurant of what I call corporate-funded-dinner restaurants. Big Daddy's Crab Shack and Oyster Bar, it was called. Anyways, yeah I call it one of those corporate-funded restaurants because you're surrounded by middle-aged white collars obviously talking about business. Well, the food was fabulous; however, excess crab always makes me do an intense "Number Two", if you know what I mean.

Saw Garden State back last week, I forgot to mention. I'm going to disagree with Ram's review. It was a pretty shitty movie. Okay, maybe just moderately shitty. I enjoyed Natalie Portman's performance; she's a great actress, not to mention really pretty. The movie was pretty funny. However, I utterly cannot those movies with a flatline development plot. There's no rise in excitement, no climax, no nothing. It remained flat their entire movie, it's just like Lost in Translation, and other snoozers like that. But great soundtrack single, however. Thanks Eric for the treat nonetheless.

Today, what more fun to waste a day than be two couch potatoes? Bowie and I, yes again, skipped off to Blockbuster and rented the entire first season of Sex and the City. It is such a hilarious and just entertaining show. Seriously, do lower-middle-aged Manhattanites really have that much sex? If so, I'm moving to New York City. I don't care how expensive it is.

Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) definitely always has the best way to explain our sex societal norms. There is no better way to waste an afternoon than to watch four female urbanite engage in all kinds of sexual situations.

UHHHHHH! I need to move to New York!!!!! Anyone like to join me?

Yes, this desperation to "move to New York" has kinda just recently hit me. Since when was my last real date? I'm thinking exactly when that was.... thinking.. thinking.. thinking... oh gawd, looking at my pathetic school term, what have I accomplished? School sucked, grades lowest in my uni history. I've been looking at pictures of me in the past few months-- omg, I look disgusting: ungroomed and unkempt. What else, yes love life-- uhhh let's see-- non-existent and there is just no one who has caught my eye. That may be due to the fact that I have developed a very sad sad monogamous relationship with a man named Dana Porter. Yes, the library. WAAA!

This term is going to be different. Must go out more. There's no excuses, especially with no school. Okay, that's it. First, let's start with scrapping Sex and the City marathons, and get my ass out more.

Idol B.S.

UPDATE:
So yes, I'm in the good old 'Loo this weekend. I had the intention to stay this weekend then changed my mind Friday morning. So yeah, I desperately saw to see if there were any Scarborough FedBus tickets left-- I was out of luck. It's me and the Waterloo. But so far, it ain't so bad. I'm not enjoying my stay, but I'm not dreading it either.

I was studying this morning in the MAD Lab, trying to get my ManSci paper finished, and then I get all of a sudden I turn really hot and sorta depressed-ish. It was kinda weird, perhaps I'm experiencing menopausal hot flashes. Anyways, I decided to cheer myself up, hopped on a bus and went to Fairview. There's no better perk than to buying something. Yes, I'm awful-- a bitch for consumerism. Yikes yikes, never knew perking myself up was that expensive. I ended up spending $90 bucks-- but then again, this is four items-- so actually I think I did quite well, yay me!

While at the Gap, someone grabs me from behind and I'm like "what the hell?" and to my discovery, it was buddy old West-C pal, Andrew! He was actually shopping, not working-- disappointingly, he is no longer a Gap associate. Booerns. I missed this guys cheeriness, tho without a doubt, we don't make good shopping buddies. He is the type to go to the mall, get what he wants and get the hell out-- very male-typical. Whereas, myself, I'm a mall-rat-- this is probably the only thing that I take my half-assed time doing. I suggested in getting starbux-- and perhaps I'm used to shopping with Bowie, I would have a seat and enjoy. But Andy was like, "C'mon, let's go to Conestoga!"-- in which we did. :S So yes, we managed to go to both (and only) malls in the TwinCities.

AMERICAN IDOL:
I was searching though the American Idol discussion board the other day again, finding an excuse to do something besides work. Wow, lets just say there's a lot of tension going on there. I don't know why, but the when a minority gets voted off, the only attribution is that they are racist. C'mon, give it a rest! This completely annoys me. Although I did enjoy Latoya's performance-- people really need to stop making accusations. Whether or not your idol stays is based on the votes, so how does it have to do the officials at Fox being racist? If they want their ratings up, they BETTER keep the top candidates!

Also, there's so much hostility that Jasmine is still in the competition-- because of the inbalance of votes in Hawaii with respect to the mainland votes. I have one word for you all: WHATEVER! If you want your idol to win, get off your ass and vote-- it's as simple as that-- distribution of votes means nothing.

My bet is on Diana. Jasmine is okay. Fantasia sounds like Macy Gray, so no. Latoya is a way better that Fantasia, c'mon America.

I like the name Latoya-- my daughter's name is going to be Latoya. Latoya Lee. I like I like.

I remember Tiff and I was discussing appropriate names for our kids, and she thought of ANOVA--- this was during our stats assignments. (ANOVA: Analysis of Variance) LMAO!

Anova Lee. mmmmm sexy name.

What happened to E.C.?

Update:
Happy Chinese New Year to all! I hope everyone had a great few days, b/c I certainly did. Chinese New Year is indeed fun :D I had part two of the festivities this weekend. Had more food-- mmmm, hot pot-- and those imfamous Vegetarian meals-- which I don't really like, but don't mind eating.

Oh, the lovely ride home to Waterloo, OMG, let me just say the "Sunday Couple" lurks again! Oh my gosh, it's just my luck boys and girls! What the heck. Enough about them, they are not worthy of my mentioning!

The School of Planning has gone Yoga-lates crazy! All the administrative staff, articularly the ladies, have been all about fitness. Everything from eating healthy (e.g. eating tofu nuggets), to doing Yoga stretches in the office, to doing running during the lunch hour-- yes in subzero, blizzard conditions. And today, the lastest addition to the office-- FITNESS BALLS! You know those huge balls like those orange balls that are really bouncy that you played in elementary school? Yes, that without the lovely handle. Well, the fitness balls have substituted office chairs-- they literally sit on those all day long. I think maybe I should get one too (you know, with peer elderly pressure and all :D) and maybe get nice and toned. lol.

Here we go,
Has anyone caught E.C.? No, I don't mean Environment Canada, and no I don't mean a particular former-FMM student. I mean Electric Circus. Well, if you want to catch it, your wishes will not be granted-- Electric Circus, the once-cool dance-electronica show has been cancelled. Yes, the show is cancelled-- I'm sure this is news to everyone. But in fact, the show has been cancelled since early-December! The fact that no one is aware of that the show has been axed really demonstrates the great viewership of this show. The question is: What happened?

First of all, I used to like watching Electric Circus; this is back when I was like in Grade 8. At the time, having not experienced the club atmosphere, E.C. was a very facinating place. Seeing somewhat hot people in hot clothes, dancing around to cool music seemed so cool! It was like "Man, I can't wait to be 19 and dance like these people!" (Yes, I'm a loser) I'm now almost 21 and I still don't dance like them (thankfully). But at the time, for my ego's sake, I didn't make my enjoyment to watch people dancing in this "club" public-- because, well obviously, it's a stupid show.

I remember one time downtown, we actually were there on a Friday night and we coincidentally caught them filming and I'm like, oh my, look at this puny place! What a big disappointment! It funny how much cameras can work wonders in that place. Install some wall mirrors, film closely at the mediocre dancers, and VOILA! The E.C. club looks packed and happening! Props to the camera crew! But don't get me wrong, E.C. was still cool to me at the time.

Remember Juliette Powell? She was the first VJ I've seen on EC and she was good at it too! She's also really pretty-- she reminds me of that girl on Friends, Aisha Tyler. (She was also a Miss Canada) Anyways, she was a great host-- then they had that Trinidadian girl-- I forget her name-- [ I remembered later: Nadine Ramkisson] she was great, she was all about dance music and so damn energetic-- exactly what you need, she had the passion for dance music and she loved it.

Then the show hits rock bottom. Death knocks on EC's door. Yes, the stray bullet to the heart of all dance-TV programming. Yes, but not just one stray bullet, but two, named: Rainbow and Amanda-- the pronounced first-degree murderers of the show. It seems like they just don't wanna be there-- like they've caught that stigma for the show too, and it really shows. I've always not enjoyed Rainbow, what the heck does he really do? Kill E.C., and play video games on MuchOnDemand? Anyways, crappy DJs: not worthy of my time. sigh.

But yes, if you were "fortunate" enough to catch the Amanda and Rainbow's EC, they've (and their producers) completely switched from cool dance and electronica music to hip hop. (look at the last EC Chart to get my drift) I'm not against hip hop-- I love hip hop! I'm sure everyone is aware of my undying love for my ever-so-cool Missy Elliott. But if I wanted hip hop, I'd watch MuchVibe or something-- or just catch the MM Countdown, since it has become so mainstream. But you don't get a chance to hear good dance/electronic music anymore-- there's no where to showcase that kind of work-- and that's pretty sad. MuchMusic: the headquarters of video music, the mecca of diversity, but is it? There are times when we must put aside our Good Charlotte, Britney Spears, or 50 Cent, and play something different.

The bottom line: MuchMusic asked for it.

Dawson's Creek is over!
07:46 PM | Comments (12)

Just back from a long mass, yikes, it turned out to be like 1h20mins :S

Well, that's it folks, Dawson's Creek is over. I watched it this afternoon (I taped it), and I still can't believe it's over. I really enjoyed the finale, this show did not air all that long, but it really left a place inside me... it's funny... maybe because I was in Waterloo, I missed a whole season of it, and now all of a sudden it's gone. :( I can't believe Jen died. sniff. It's weird I'm saying this, cuz I never really liked her. What happened to Andy? (Kinda like what Jack said in "Will and Grace") lol. But yeah, it was a great ending, and I'm going to miss that show.

Well, I taped Dawson's Creek because I went out with Justin and his cuz Dwayne, which so happened to be in Scarborough. We went downtown, chilled and had a few drinks.

I've been very tired at work, and thank God I have a few days off after Sunday. Speaking of Jobs, the GAP called! Aiya! Now what am I going to do? Work at the Gap? Work at AE? Work at Chapters? Like that crappy Joee song, "If I could, I would".. but I can't. I can't even stand just working at Chapters! So it looks like I'm going to forfeit the interviews. Shucks.

A little music review shtuff: I'm enjoying that new Jewel song, "Intuition", lol, I keep hearing it a word, I admit it was kinda annoying in the beginning, but it grows on ya! Another great song is Daniel Bedingfield "If You're Not The One"... niceness, and oh yeah, some older stuff, Evanescence, and Gossip Missy Elliott! mmm hmm!

Oh yeah, Anger Management is a stupid movie.
Have a great long weekend everyone.
