I haven’t been very good with blogging these days, mainly as there is nothing too inspiring that is truely worthy of blogging relative to the time that I have to spare. Perhaps this will soon change as my time frees up in 1.5 weeks when I return to Waterloo.
I spend most of my commuting either sleeping or thinking. Mostly sleeping. But today, there were many questions I asked myself, but with no proper response.
Here we go.
1. How can you ask a stranger what they’re wearing that makes them smell nice, without totally freaking them out? Is it even possible?
2. Let’s say that you take interest in someone romantically, and this person has given hints of disinterest. You want to continue but are torn as to where to draw the line between (1) being persistent and (2) being plain-out annoying? Perhaps responses can only happen depending on the actual scenario? I don’t know.
3. What is the etiquette for hand shaking? Should a person always provide firm handshakes as specified in UW Co-op? Or should the intensity of firmness be relative to the ‘receiver’ of the handshake?
That’s it.
Addendum:
These questions seem appropriate for AskMefi. Also, there was severe grammatical errors and unclear sentences in this entry. My apologies— it was written in two minutes.
hahahha...
i don't know about #1... i had a similar question of how to show that you are enjoying the foot massage when you go for a pedicure? if you say something like "mmm that feels goooood" it just sounds plain gross...
for #2, i would tend to err on the side of caution. as long as you have expressed interest, the person already knows and will act on it if they change their mind. i guess the only time to be persistent is if you feel that the person has a inaccurate perception of you and if they knew the truth, it might change their mind...
i think handshakes should always be firm (but not like scary, gripping tightly). loosey-goosey handshakes are lame.
that's all:P
Man, I hate handshakes.. I was always taught to give a firm handshake, but then sometimes I shake hands with guys and they hardly touch your hand. WTF! It annoys me so much... specially since I look butch giving a proper firm handshake!
It was nice seeing you la! I miss Matt! :( You looked hot and your biceps were even hotter! ;)
Thanks Denise, I like your answer for Question #2. Thanks future pshyciatrist!

Shima! I miss you so much. It was so awesome to see you... and partly Fadi! It's so weird, I bump into so many people at that painted dead tree on Queen Street! I should just stand there more often and see who I will bump into. :P
See you at the Y, baby.
re: the hand shake etiquette
we learn in school that you're supposed to spray your hand with antiperspirant before you shake hands.
Haha. I guess sweaty palms never present signs of professionalism.
You know what *I* thought on the bus this morning when I was so late? I don't get to see you on the bus anymore! Not that we are loud chatterboxes in the morning, but still, no familiar face! :(
man, i wish I knew the answer to #2!
