I have been stressing over scholarships and admissions for the past five months now, and I finally get a good note today that made it all worthwhile.
No, I did not get an offer of admission, but rather, the application has been received in its entirety. That in itself is a big accomplishment, methinks.
U of T has a way more intelligent applications system than UW. It actually tells you exactly what components have come in, and which one’s have not. Thankfully, I have the planning ladies on the third floor to bug to ensure that all my documents are in for my UW application.
For those who might not know, I’m hoping to pursue grad school. I have applied to the Master of Science in Planning program at U of T, and the Master of Arts - Planning program at UW— both where I hope to specialize in the field of Transportation Planning. The applications were due last week, and I can finally carry on with my life now that all this work is over and done with.
I guess now comes the easy part: waiting. I will not speak of grad school anymore, as I don’t wish to jinx myself.
niiiice! so which would you rather go to? UW or UT?
am i indirectly making you jinx yourself by asking you that question? if so... im sorry... don't answer... hehe
the waiting game is a lot of fun... (NOT!!), but hang in there you'll find out soon. =) Best of luck and i hope you get into the #1 school of your choice!
Matty, you must tell me when you get your first acceptance. that in itself is a huge leap. =)
miss ya!!
Mine still hasn't shown up as received yet :(
Shawn, I had issues with UofT receiving my application. Admin actually manually puts in the stuff and it takes a while for the system to update, so don't worry. You could always call and make sure it's in!
Yay Matt. I hope that you guys both get in then it'd be like Waterloo all over again.. even though it sort of is like Waterloo already with so many of us alumni at UT now. But it'd be that much more special. :)
yea... i think first week into orientation, i checked my SGS application and it was still saying they were reviewing my application...
Yay for Matt! No more boring essays and tedious forms...!!! I'm done my apps too, and it makes me happy. I thought they would NEVER end. Waiting, I can do.
I've applied for MSW (Social Work) at U of T, WLU, and Columbia and community psychology at WLU. So, we could end up in the same city!
I also got a few med interview so far: Mac, Queens, & Calgary. Still waiting to hear from U of T and UWO. *fingers crossed* Such a long, drawn-out process...
Anyways, good luck =) You'll be a PIRfect transporation planner!
