outside of Toronto, Hazel McCallion - mayor of Mississauga - got 91.41% of the votes. it's pretty cool that the majority of residents believe in ONE vision. Hazel is AWESOME!

(sorry i had to post this because i felt left out of all this Toronto business, but yay to Miller!)

being a former region of peeler...i've been brainwashed to think otherwise about hazel.
bashing hazel was a common thing at the region's planning department over her lack of interest/acknowledgement in planning and wanting eliminate regional planning in general.
but thats not to say shes not a good mayor in other aspects and a nice person in general.

i once saw her give a tour of her beautiful backyard watergarden on breakfast television...which i thought was awesome and extremely down to earth...which is a rare quality of big city mayors these days.
she even named her dog 'hurricane'...and still plays ice hockey...hahaha

Did you see the CityTV segment with Jane Pitfield, basically telling her right away, at around 8pm, that she basically lost already and there was no hope she'd win?

It's quite awkward and cringeworthy.

And I know I come by your blog after every election to say HAHAHAHA JOE LI LOST (I can't help it if he just keeps running for everything), but well... here I am again to say that INCOHERENT FOOL WITH NO CORE [POLITICAL] VALUES lost. And I am glad. *

* no offense if you're a Joe Li supporter or he's, like, your uncle or something.

Greg: really?? lack of interest in planning?? but she's all about planning now. she's even chair of the Smart Growth Panel. Didn't she want to combine or move Peel Region's office from Brampton into Mississauga? Is that why ppl at your office were bashing her? haha

wow, that's pretty awesome! before i moved neighborhoods, i use to see Hazel driving around on Sunday mornings heading to church on MY street! it was this old white car with the licence plate "Mayor1" on it. AND she use to give speeches at graduation ceremonies at the middle school named after her (which i went to). Pretty cool! =)

Trust me, I am not a Joe Li supporter.

I wonder if he is still considering politics.
