I actually sat there watching the House go through each MP as they announced each person’s name while waiting for my dinner to do its thang.
It looks like we will have an election late January, so let the campaigning begin!
There has already been an announcement tonight from Olivia Chow that she is resigning her post as Toronto councillor to run, yet again, for federal MP.
Michael Ignatieff, who is an author of terribly boring books, made a similar announcement and will running under the Liberal banner— which is interesting because he seems quite Conservative.
There apparently are also rumours that Raymond Cho (Scarborough-Rouge River), and Denzil Minnan-Wong (Don Valley East) will also be running for federal candidacy. Cho, like Chow, was a federal candidate in the 2005 election, however, I am uncertain under which banner, if any, he will persue.
The key themes I will be keeping particular attention include:
I think it makes sense for Michael Ignatieff to run as a Liberal. The liberals always struck me as being no different than the progressive conservatives. I mean, Jean Charret is head of the provincial Liberals in Quebec.
i'm glad i wont be in the country when the campaign starts. i dont appreciate how my holidays is ruined by politicians. the only colours during christmas should be green and red (not politically mind you...)
i'm probably vote in waterloo again this time round. toronto should stay liberal-ndp.
Ram, I suppose so. I guess I was also influenced by the fact that he was a avid supporter for the war in Iraq, and the missle defence project.
I do feel that the Quebec Liberals is the best fit for Charest in Quebec-- since there isn't a prominent right-of-centre party in the Province-- not particularly because I feel Liberal and PC are equivalent.
Tiff, I do believe green, red and orange go nicely during christmastime. What colour am I missing, again? Oh right.
I tried to keep an open mind about the Conservatives, but already after Day 1, they've let me down. If I wanted to hear more ranting and complaining, I would just listen to myself.
It looks like the rumours I mentioned in the entry aren't true.
IT'S ERRRRRRECTION TIME!!! LOL
GO MARTIN! SINK HARPER! FLOAT LAYTON!
OMG, Shawn, you're dirty.
Although I have to admit, there's always time for erection time-- especially in the morning.
Yes. Harper should die.
so one of my msn people's name is
"canada's future is bright. Canada's future is Conservative"
i wont tell you who it is. but doesnt that sound like a communist chant?
I wouldn't say that sounds communist... dumb, arrogant and ignorant perhaps...
Communist would be somethin' like... "Chairman Harper of the glorious peoples Conservative party declares that the West is blue"...
In any case... i say, DOWN WITH CHAIRMAN HERPES!!!
