Hullo, it’s time for a blogging update.
Emancipate me
Under the influence of Thomas and his Mariah-ness, I think I’m quite digging her too. I caught her on BET the other day. Her new single, It’s Like That, is pretty good! It’s pretty addictive to listen to. But one thing I can’t stand is to see her sing. She reminds me of Jessica Simpson— they both go totally insane under the mic. The twitching, exaggerated vocal gestures, and their wide singing mouths—-so large that I can pretty much see their fillings.
Nevertheless, thumbs up to Mariah. Maybe she’ll make a comeback with this album: The Emancipation of Mimi. I assume that she’s Mimi; I wonder what she’s “emancipating.” Maybe it’s her already-mini miniskirts. Sorry, yes, that was a cheap shot. :P
Matthew to U of T?
I’m thinking of being a UT Visiting Student. Haha. I know, you guys all think I’m insane. Maybe their large ads plastered on Imprint is starting to influence me— with that happy Asian girl. Well, since I’m back at Queen’s Park in the Spring, I might be cool to just fill some time and take a class once a week. Just as an excuse to do something— and to get a needed 300/400 level credit that I will be deficient of if I pursue the Business Option. There’s an Economic Development class (hope it doesn’t conflict with our PLAN 362) to take in the evening, and also a Medical Geography class— which sounds kind of neat. Or maybe another microeconomics class? Hmmmmm. erm…AH!
Their course codes are funny. If someone would like to enlighten me with what Y/S/F means, that would be fantabulous.
Hmmm, or am I just crazy to even think of going to school on top of burdensome work? And it will be the nice summer time. Yum. Maybe this isn’t such a good idea— but it would be neat if I *did* find a place to live downtown. Decisions, decisions, decisions.
Bay Olympic Apparel?
I don’t know if you’ve all heard, but HBC scquired rights to be the official outfitter of the Canadian Olympic Team— beating out the popular Roots.
I have mixed opinion about the switch to the Bay. First off, I think Roots have become way too cocky lately— having designed not only in Canada, but the US, Great Britain, and Burmuda as well. So in that sense, it would be nice to say “Ha, suckers!” Second off, I’m not a big fan of Roots. The apparel is pretty bland, and it’s doesn’t come cheap.
At the same time, I think this is a great opportunity for the Bay and Zellers to position themselves as the All-Canadian store, unlike their tough rivals Sears, and Wal-Mart in the mass merchandise market— and maybe, just maybe Canadian patriotism will drive in more sales. Maybe.
However, I am a little nervous on how they will end up looking. Maybe it will be a collaboration with Stuff by Duff. That would be interesting. Guess we’ll just have to see.
my comments dissappeared!.
here's a repost.
The u of t code is not weird... at least we have it standardized to 3 letters unlike UW
Y = full year course, F = fall term course, S = spring term course.
In the summer, Y = whole summer, F = first half of summer, S = second half of summer.
You can try renting my place, although I have 3 people possibly renting the entire flat for a full year.... we'll see.
GO TO U OF T NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! and hillary duff looks fat on that link...my grammar is bad but its 4 am so i don't care
Leo:
Oh okay, that makes a lot of sense. I feel the need to be defensive, however.
1: UW does not have full-year courses-- a course that goes to two terms will be designated 2 course numbers, or simply: two courses.
2: Unless the Fall term courses are always under the Fall (F) term, or the same with the Spring (S) term, I don't see the need for these term designations.
Also, I think the nature of co-op in the school has caused that regular 4-month, 3 terms a year, which makes it diffoicult for intersessions (like the split summer term), as it is a 'regular' term for some folks.
3: As for the three letter thing, I guess that makes it more consistent, yes. You guys got us there. Good job UT. :)
Ahhh, living downtown would be fantabulous. :)
Tom:
Haha! Your grammar seems fine :P
I don't get what you said have anything to do with what I said. Didn't you ask for what F/S/Y mean?
BTW your comment thing is annoying.
Yeah, there's some weird thing going on with the comment thing. I need to look into that, but I think it's related to the excessive comment spam that I've been getting.
Your comment seemed agressive, with the "unlike UW" part, so I felt the need to defend and represent :P lol. When I get that feeling, I have a sudden urge to put up a shield; I think I'm demonstrating my natural instincts :S. So yes, the comment was my feeble attempt to explain why our course system is "unlike" and not as advanced as U of T.
Nevertheless, thanks for the explanation.
That would be funny .. :) . Stuff by Duff for our Olympians .. :)
