Shopping Annonymous
09:25 AM | Comments (7)

Yes, it's blog time. I'm going to blog more often, I promised myself. Also, there will be a new layout when I post the next entry.

I've been feeling a little down the past few days. I think it has to do with the weather and how the days are getting shorter and shorter. It's like when I get up in the morning, it's dark. When I get home, it's dark. It really begins to affect your mood. Not to mention how there has been so cloudy and overcast the past few days. It really doesn't help with the downness. On the contrary, today is actually sunny, so that I'm happy with.

Nothing is really new in my life to report and hence, there really has not been much to really blog about. So from now 'til December, I think I'll just ramble about what I'm thinking in my head.

I've been super-tired the past few days. I running on no reserve energy. I'm just living day by day on 6.5 hours sleep and I stupidly stayed up until 2:30 the other night; so I've been binge-coffee-drinking at work since then. It's so hard to stay awake, especially in the afternoon. I should be bring a pin-needle chair to keep me awake. Or some good music. Yeah, good music.

My shopping problem:
I think I have a shopping problem. Now that I'm working, I have this intense urge to shop. And it doesn't help when I have such a plethera of accessible places to shop. I'm always continuing this notion that even though I don't completely like it, I'll buy it anyways, because I can just later return it.

I never do.

Then later when I find the garment in my closet, I'm like "What the hell was I thinking?" Yes, this is me. Maybe it's because I hate decision making and to make my life easier, I'll just give in and buy it. Yes, I'm weak. But as we always say, knowing is half the battle!

Yes, I'm a slave for consumerism... and for you (but not for Britney).

Maybe Ashlee Simpson though. I realy enjoyed the SNL performance. It keeps me entertained. I still giggle about it everytime I see her crazy dancing. And it doesn't help when the band had grins on their faces after she stepped on out. Here's her performance: take a look. Haha.

Matt Status:
- Work's been busy, but doing well.
- Saw The Grudge (3 1/2 stars), Team America (3 stars)
- Didn't go to WatPubs this week
- Looking forward to the weekend

Howdy, OPP Ranger!
12:16 AM | Comments (7)

Hello there. I?m really trying to blog more, I really am.

WORK STUFF:
Work has been tough. It's not just the work, but also the interpersonal relations in the branch. The bad thing is that research at work does not involve excessive Google and Trellis like school. it would make my life so much easier. But because of all the sensitive information, I have to consult with a billion people. Yes, the crazy red tape.

Another thing is that coworkers are not exactly cooperative. Therefore, I end up making assumptions, which then leads to the question of validity. I managed to write 15 assumption endnotes on a table. I then wonder what the point in me compiling this information.

Seriously they need a restructured government; none of these steep vertical specialized organizational structures.

---
HOT COPS:
This week, they have started strict ?lock up? security measures at work; I think this is in light of the Legislative Assembly being back in order. On every floor, there are these OPP detachment officers. There's something about the navy uniform and the ranger hat that's just so striking.

The OPP officer on our floor is super kinky. My proximity card didn?t work today, and he had to escort me to the identification office to get a visitors card. He expressed a fine balance of police authoritative sternness and consideration for others. So now I have a cop friend, haha. I hope this lockdown carries on. Maybe I'll go to Tim Horton's and treat him to some donuts. I'll put on my special glaze.

I want an OPP uniform for Hallowe'en, I think that would be a blast. My sister's boyfriend's brother is a cop, maybe he can hook me up! Ermmm, maybe not. Hmmmm, I was thinking either that or a be a TTC bus. Hmm, I wonder if I could fashion a bus together; it would go great for work. My boss would love it because he previously worked there and is "TTC crazy." Tiff said I'd be making a lot of "short turns."

---
GOOD OLD WATERLOO:
On the Waterloo front, there has been word from Shima of hot flammy "pretty boy" planner on campus. I believe Shima mention they're all in the same design class. Maybe Shima or Liz should ask him which team he plays for during crits! Maybe sneek in a question. Hmm, just a thought :P. She says I should buy her a digital camera so she can be my Waterloo "prospect" correspondent and spy on "pretty boy". She strikes a tough deal, but it think I'm sold on the idea!

The Subway 'Princess'
12:44 AM | Comments (5)

Seriously I have 'transit rage'.

It's worse than road rage because I least I can go and honk my ass off without really fearing my safety. Yes, there are just some things passengers do on the subways that makes me so damn pissed.

Today I'm going to speak of those who persist on leaning on the panel perpendicular to the subway doors. FUCK. I was boarding the train at St. George Station (University-Spadina) the other morning. Needless to say, it is a pretty busy ass station. So as those on the platform anxiously wait for the train passengers to get off, there are two big losers'Mary Kate' and 'Ashley'leaning on the panel. Passengers literally had to squeeze through these people and climb onto the train. Ugh, and knowing my morning crankiness, I'm not a happy camper.

Anyways, already pissed about these inconsiderate chicks, I aggressively wedged sideways into the train along with another passenger as the infamous TTC "doors closing" chime rings. As I got on, I then realized that I have stepped on poor Mary Kate's toe.

Here's a little insider: you see, Mary Kate is not one of the ladies you want to mess with. Her physical appearance reeks 'stuck up high maintenance bitch'--with her LV purse, flashy earrings, light bronze tan, perfect salon-hair, ?flawless? made-up skin. After the toe episode, she crazily shrieked. I looked back at her and then she looked back and rolled her eyes at me to Ashley as if I've done something wrong. I then suggested to her that maybe she shouldn't stand in the doorway, because it makes passengers difficult to get off and board. She pretends to not hear me and refuses to give me eye contact. What was I thinking--what could I expect from a shrewd lard ass bitch?

A few matters came into mind later that morning:
1. Why are rich-ass bitches Mary Kate and Ashley taking the frickin? subway anyway? Shouldn't they be riding in a Buick with some old sugar daddy? UGH!
2. C'mon Mary Kate, your toe was asking for it. Wish I was wearing steel toe.
3. Was that a real LV purse? It was the traditional monogram multicolor bag; famous for its knockoffs. Ugh, I should have paid better attention.

Seriously I should suggest to the TTC to start installing pin needles on the panels and give folks like Mary Kate and Ashley the time of their lives if they persist to lean on it. Fuckers! Yes, it's one thing to block the doorway when the subway is completely packed and you can?t move in, but seriously, when there?s room, move the fuck into the train! There seriously needs to be a published document on transit etiquette.

Yes, I'm bitter, sue me. This is partly due to tiredness and antsiness.

Other than that, life is pretty good. Knock on wood.... Yes, knock it.

Word of the Day: 'Interesting'
11:59 PM | Comments (5)

It has been an interesting few days. Thursday is approaching and the long weekend is near. So we're on Week 5, I?ve realized this because I?m almost out of tokens.

The weekend was pretty good for the most part. Friday was the much anticipated Din-Din and Drink night, or 'Triple-D', with the Planners. Laurence's entry on October 4th pretty much summed it up. Got pretty plastered, but still managed to get home with no bumps or bruises. With the exception of the damn rowdy Seneca kids (they wore Seneca hoodies) on the Steeles bus home; they were so rowdy, the bus driver had to get up and tell them to chill out, I suspect they are kids from FMM (I hear familiar teacher's names). If I were anymore sick, I would puke on them. Overall, it was an interesting night to say the least. Hmm. Yes, quite interesting.

Speaking of interesting. I finally found out what Levitra is after seeing the subway / bus stop ads on numerous occasions. Yes, it's pills for erectile dysfunction. They always make the ads so ambiguous, talk about bad marketing. But then again, I did find out what it meant, so I guess it wasn't that ineffective. As what our beloved GIS TA always said: "Google is your friend." Hmm. Yes, quite interesting.

Anyway, saw 'Banana Boys' on Saturday with Leo, Bow and Eric at this small production theatre at Bathurst & Adelaide. It was seriously the wrong side of town. Major brownfields, vacant lots. seriously if a tumbleweed passed by, I wouldn't be surprised. The play was decent; but it seriously had nothing to do with being a 'banana'. Just simply about the pressures teens encounter living under conservative family settings. Because I had high hopes for this production, I am somewhat disappointed. It was also one of those abstract plays which is not easy to comprehend; y'know, the shows/movies that Eric likes, what a weirdo :P

COURSE ENROLMENT SUCKS!
Has anyone picked courses for Winter '05 yet? Seriously, the planning department really enjoys to gang rape me. Yes, it's worse than being screwed over, this is bad bad bad. Here are some of my findings:
1. Specializing in gis is impossible in the co-op stream--even if I stay an extra term. conclusion: screw gis.
2. I'm one course short of doing the land development planning specialization. I'm trying to exchange talks with Seasons.
3. If talks go well with Seasons, and if admin doesn't cancel or change the course offerings schedule (which I greatly doubt) I might be able to get land development specialization and my business option on my diploma.

As it stands, I'm taking PLAN 300, 309, 349, 362, and the second section of 474: Planning and Public Policy. What about you guys?
