Its been a fun few days.
Me and the Bowster got tickets to see The Last Empress. It’s a Korean drama musical at the Hummingbird. Wow, it was amazing; the vocals just warm your heart, y’know that feeling? Anyways, the entire musical was sung in Korean, so I had to strain my eyes to read the subtitles. Nevertheless, the play was great. I highly recommend it. We had dinner at this restaurant of what I call corporate-funded-dinner restaurants. Big Daddy’s Crab Shack and Oyster Bar, it was called. Anyways, yeah I call it one of those corporate-funded restaurants because you’re surrounded by middle-aged white collars obviously talking about business. Well, the food was fabulous; however, excess crab always makes me do an intense “Number Two”, if you know what I mean.
Saw Garden State back last week, I forgot to mention. I’m going to disagree with Ram’s review. It was a pretty shitty movie. Okay, maybe just moderately shitty. I enjoyed Natalie Portman’s performance; she’s a great actress, not to mention really pretty. The movie was pretty funny. However, I utterly cannot those movies with a flatline development plot. There’s no rise in excitement, no climax, no nothing. It remained flat their entire movie, it’s just like Lost in Translation, and other snoozers like that. But great soundtrack single, however. Thanks Eric for the treat nonetheless.
Today, what more fun to waste a day than be two couch potatoes? Bowie and I, yes again, skipped off to Blockbuster and rented the entire first season of Sex and the City. It is such a hilarious and just entertaining show. Seriously, do lower-middle-aged Manhattanites really have that much sex? If so, I’m moving to New York City. I don’t care how expensive it is.
Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) definitely always has the best way to explain our sex societal norms. There is no better way to waste an afternoon than to watch four female urbanite engage in all kinds of sexual situations.
UHHHHHH! I need to move to New York!!!!! Anyone like to join me?
Yes, this desperation to “move to New York” has kinda just recently hit me. Since when was my last real date? I’m thinking exactly when that was…. thinking.. thinking.. thinking… oh gawd, looking at my pathetic school term, what have I accomplished? School sucked, grades lowest in my uni history. I’ve been looking at pictures of me in the past few months— omg, I look disgusting: ungroomed and unkempt. What else, yes love life— uhhh let’s see— non-existent and there is just no one who has caught my eye. That may be due to the fact that I have developed a very sad sad monogamous relationship with a man named Dana Porter. Yes, the library. WAAA!
This term is going to be different. Must go out more. There’s no excuses, especially with no school. Okay, that’s it. First, let’s start with scrapping Sex and the City marathons, and get my ass out more.
Um, it did not suck! You suck!
You always want things to end up in a nice little package and all those movies that have the same cookie cutter plot line.
Grrr. Sucky Matt in Waterpoo!
Hahaha, although I totally agree with you about Natalie Portman. She's great!
I would have something to say about Garden State, except *someone* went to watch it with a friend. Sometimes when it comes to movies, Shima does not exist.
And New York you say? Hm... I'll think about it but I think you'll have to take someone else with you.
and go out and have fun in the fall for the both of us and I'll keep Dana Porter happy for you ;)
uh. i wanna go to nyc... duh.
Dude, you didn't like Lost in Translation? Both films are awesome. Sometimes it is interesting just to watch the relationships between the characters in a movie, and how they change and evolve through the course of the film.
take me with you matty!
damn, i haven't watched any of those movies. I must be out of town~
